The year 2025 was, without a doubt, an exceptional year! The team grew and long-held dreams came true! We premiered 3 original productions: Cabaret Voltaire, Quantum – A Origem and O Marquês de Pombal e os Jesuítas.

​

Our performances passed through 6 countries (Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia and Turkey) and we were in 27 locations, presenting 91 sessions of the 12 productions we have for touring. They were seen by around 10,200 people. This number does not include the two Three Kings parades (Cabalgatas de Reyes Magos) we participated in — in Salamanca and Burgos —, which were attended by thousands of people.

We organized 4 exhibitions that are open to the public until February 15, 2026, at Armazém das Artes, in Alcobaça: FELP – Pelo sim, pelo não, as marionetas da série de televisão; Quantum – A Origem: Processo; and O Marquês de Pombal e os Jesuítas – Making-of.

We led a glove puppet construction workshop, a rod puppet manipulation workshop, and another for Dom Roberto Theatre manipulation.

Integrated into the Qualifica Program of the Cister Qualifica Center, of which we were partners, we led two rod puppet manipulation workshops.

We participated in conferences related to traditional Portuguese puppet theatre (Teatro Dom Roberto) in Aveiro and Vila Franca de Xira.

We launched the fourth volume of the S.A.Marionetas Theatre Notebooks (Cadernos de Teatro S.A.Marionetas), featuring the script for

O Marquês de Pombal e os Jesuítas, which included a video recording entitled À Água com Eles, as well as a photographic record of the same process.

As part of the creation of the show Quantum – A Origem, the construction process was recorded on video and in photography. In October, we once again organized the Marionetas na Cidade festival, this time in its 28th edition, featuring thirteen original shows by eleven companies,

two of them international.

An old dream came true: we participated in the television series FELP, an idea by Manuel Pureza, Rui Melo and Henrique Dias, directed by Manuel Pureza for RTP and HBO. S.A.Marionetas designed and built the puppets, provided manipulation training to the involved actors, performed manipulation, and provided manipulation support. It was 6 months of work that included 50 days of filming with an unforgettable crew

from the production company Coiote Vadio.

​

But this year was also the year we received sustained support from DGArtes for 2 years, which allowed the team to grow.
